Brain Damage!!!

I finally finish this month with the last topic on health. Our Brain is the most important part of the human body.A Brain damage can result in really painful consequences. Our brain is getting damaged on a regular basis. These are various habits which influence a Brain Damage.
  • 1. No Breakfast People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.
  • 2. Overeating It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.
  • 3. Smoking It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.
  • 4. High Sugar consumption Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
  • 5. Air Pollution The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body.Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.
  • 6. Sleep Deprivation Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.
  • 7. Head covered while sleeping Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
  • 8. Working your brain during illness Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.
  • 9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.
  • 10. Talking Rarely Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain . I hope my notes on all the above health topics were useful to everyone.I end this month with this - "Please Take Care of Your Health "

OLE OLE Olive !!!

We all know that olive oil has great anti-oxidant properties, which boost immunity, prevent diseases and anti-aging. But do we know why? It's because it is the only oil to be obtained from a fruit. This fruit is exposed to the air and has to defend itself from oxygen, and it therefore synthesizes a larger amount of anti-oxidants, which help in the prevention of aging and also boost immunity.
The phenolic content of the oil has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties too. Of course, we know olive oil is a monounsaturated fat and is known to lower the levels of LDL (the bad cholesterol) and may be even raise the levels of HDL (the good cholesterol)

Proper-Ty!!

Investment in real estate may yield the desired returns but a well maintained property will yield better returns, both in the short and long run. There has been a growing awareness about the need to maintain a property. While international property consultants maintain commercial property for corporate and MNCs, there are not many organizations that offer similar services for retail buyers. The concept of managing properties, ESP in the absence of owners, is popular in Europe and other Western countries.

According to the market sources, the rate of managing property varies depending on the type of building and the services required by the clients. As IT/ITES companies require round the clock services, the rate invariable is very high. Whereas the non-IT companies require considerable lesser rate. The value of a well-maintained building goes up with the passage of time. Tenants often tempted to move out of properties that are poorly looked after. It is imperative for the property developers to realize the need for facility management services as it is their reputation which is at stake.

Computer Games Make you Good at Maths: study

A daily dose of computer games can boost students' score on standard math tests, says a new research.

The study, which was carried out in schools, in the research experts analysed the effect of a "brain training" game. The study involved more than 600 pupils in 32 schools across Scotland using the Brain Training from Dr Kawashima game on the Nintendo DS every day.

In the study, a group of pupils played the game, which included reading tests, problem-solving exercises and memory puzzles, for 20 minutes in class for nine weeks. While all group using the game had improved by a further 50 %. The time taken to complete the tests also dropped by five minutes. The improvement in the games group was double that of the control group. "Computer games help flatten out the hierarchy that exits in schools -- they are in the domain of the learner as opposed to the domain of the school".

Mobile use in Pregnancy Linked to problems in Kids!!!

Mothers Be aware who use mobiles during pregnancy are more likely to have Kids with behavioural problems, according to new study. The findings are based on a review of 15 years of research into mobile phone health danger. It also showed that mothers who use handsets around their toddlers would cause the same difficulties. The study has claimed that using a mobile phone regularly for more than ten(10) years can also increase the risk of brain tumours.

According to the study, Kids exposed to phones prenatally and in early childhood show an 80% rise in behaviour problems.

  • The study found that kid's brains absorb a greater proportion of radiation emitted by mobiles due to skull formation.
  • "I think we strongly recommend the government actively discourages mobile phone use by children, including making public advice leaflets readily available in NHS waiting rooms".

Who Needs an apostrophe???

  • Spelling should be simplified and apostrophe abolished to avoid wasting time at school, say experts.
  • Children should not be forced to memorise complicated words. Instead, a phonetic approach and the language of the text messaging and the Internet should be adopted, Researcher thinks for centuries academics and teachers have been divided over how strictly the English language should be preserved. University tutors and examiners have said that even bright A- level students misspell common words, and employers have had to adopt a 'three strikes and you 're out' rule, in which candidates are allowed two spelling errors in job applications before being rejected.
  • The apostrophe should simply be left out, with 'it's' becoming 'its', or replaced with a space, so 'we'll' would be written 'we ll'.
  • prof wells called for greater freedom to allow phonetic spellings: "it seems highly likely that one of the reasons Britain and other English speaking countries have problems with literacy is because of our spelling and the burden it places on children. In countries like Italy and Spain it's similar: with English it's not phonetic, and there are just so many irregularities. Lots of other things are neglected in class because so much time is spent on spelling. Also learning how to use the apostrophe is also a waste of time."

Plastic Bottles are Deadly for your Brain!!!!

Hey friends plastic containers may be deadly for your brain. Canadian researchers have found that Bisphenol A(BPA), the chemical used in making plastic containers, might be responsible for impairing many brain functions such as learning and remembering.

They also fear that it could be a factor behind Alzheimer's, Schizophrenia and Depression.

BPA is globally used in making plastic water bottles, baby food bottles, food containers and ental prosthenses. BPA might be laeking into the solid or liquid foods kept in the plastic containers. When these foods and liquid are consumed, they sain the chemical might be getting into the human system, disrupting communication betwwen brain neurons which is vital in understanding and remembering.

So be aware of these because the slow doses of this chemical badly impair the formation of synapses in the areas of the human brain linked to learning.

The Kosi Floods--the Worst in india's History!!!

Disaster audit-- Kosi floods worst flood ever in India's history.
Millions have been made homeless and have lost their sources of livelihood. Even after the floods recede, large areas of the affected region might be rendered permanently infertile because of the deposit of gravel and stones the kosi waters are likely to leave behind.
The Estimated damage caused by the catastrophe runs into thousands of crores. As the spectres of famine and disease stalk the land after the floods have subsided, long - haul relief measures will have to be budgeted considerably higher. The kosi floodwater's may be receding, but there is no respite for the 25 lakh people affected by the deluge in north bihar.
The prime Minister described the floods as a national calamity but follow-up action by government has not matched his words. Relief measures are grossly inadequate..
A proactive approach to disaster management is necessary. we need to develop institutional structures that can not only anticipate floods and droughts, but also contain their impact. people need to be trained in rescue and relief operation and necessary stockpiles of relief equipment should be maintained at district level if not with panchayats.
Human life is precious and the government must not have fatalistic approach to natural disasters.
